My inked drawings generally take up the entire 14 x 17 bristol board that I work on but I wanted this one to be cropped kind of like an HD movie... since this was from a movie. It was awkward to just stop drawing after a certain point but I was also to stop inking all that black.
Also, since I don't have a proper scanner, I take pictures of my drawings to put them on the computer, which I know have led to weird distortions. I don't recommend that.
On Thursday, I'll show you guys some swatches I work from to make a "manga style" rendering.
Well, it wasn't meant to be and I lost the Chopsticks contest. One door closes and another one will open right? I'm not too upset. It was a good try.
I downloaded an app called Sprite Something for the iPad and have been making animations with it .You're meant to make game sprites but I export the files onto photoshop- blow up the pixels- and then make those pixels dance instead.
A stranger walking behind me on the street was talking to his friend about how he wanted to feel satisfaction by the end of his life. He's never satisfied with his job or love or anything.
I wish I could have followed their conversation to see what his friend said but the ice cream truck was calling my name at the corner.
This is how I feel about satisfaction though. The grass is always somehow greener on the other side. Eat ice cream instead of thinking too hard about it.
Submitting things to contests always make me nervous. I'm going to find out if I made the group of finalists in the next week or two so my stomach is all butterflies. Let's hope for the best!
I've had my iPad for almost 2 months now and I love the Brushes program more than anything else on there. To be able to have to make so much from such a restrictive interface is challenging but also very rewarding. Do I sound like a drone? Hehe
Another submission to the ChopsticksNY cover contest. I would show all of it but I like this image ratio, so take what you can get! (to answer one commenter's question)
This was one of my submissions to the ChopsticksNY cover contest. I submitted 5 samples total and each of them relate to Japanese culture in NY in some way. I'm crossing my fingers!
This is the first sneak peak at my first of many secret projects. I don't really want to keep things secret projects but I have strong secret feelings of possible failure and humiliation. But I really believe in this Green Arrow!
